Local Challenges, Local Solutions

When we started building robotics solutions for businesses few years ago, we quickly noticed that existing solutions tended to neglect the unique requirements of local businesses in Southeast Asia and India. Namely, that many of these sites – warehouses, factories, etc – are often older and more densely-packed compared to eg. warehouses in the USA or EU. Thus, any robotics solutions must be able to work in highly dense spaces and readily adapt to older buildings and facilities.

As a result, we developed our robotics solutions with these local requirements in mind right from the start, catering to what we recognised as an underserved local market. Our MAG robots are both compact and easily-adaptable, requiring no modifications to existing facilities – such as installing magnetic strips or barcodes around the facility – to navigate. Instead, they are built to use LiDAR scanning and depth cameras to navigate as they go, which allows them to easily move around changing layouts, objects, or workers in their path, or other challenges with minimal inconvenience. It is effectively a plug-and-play system, built with local needs in mind.

Our software took this a step further, making our robots even more adaptable for use in small-scale, dynamic sites. Using tablets or phones, supervisors can assign or change tasks, parts, maps, and stations for MAG robots for any of their processes, all from an easy-to-use app. It is also integrated with WMS/ERP, allowing a few robots to take over a multitude of transportation tasks around a facility as needed with minimal input from humans.

With this in mind, we hope to make robotic solutions even more accessible and easy to use for businesses in India and Southeast Asia!

Botsync is a robotics startup that helps companies automate their material movement operations at existing plants or warehouses. Our automation platform allows users to configure, deploy and change settings of AMRs without any technical capability. Our MAG AMR series can automate movement of pallets/trolleys/carts/custom loads of up to 1000 kg (lifting) or 1500 kg (tugging) without any changes to existing infrastructure.
